I really kind of love this idea.  NPR has an article featuring the work of the design house Whitevinyl who have created Solarbeat.  Solarbeat is based on the philosophy of Pythagoras who believed that each planet gave off a distinct musical note as it revolved around the earth (ahem). {via ny mag}
